Orthodox Christians in Ethiopia celebrate Timket festival

Orthodox Christians in Addis Ababa took part in Timket festival, an event that marks the baptism of Jesus. The celebration of the Epiphany began on Friday with the ritual of carrying a Tabot, a sacred replica of the Ark of the Covenant. On Saturday, the rituals began in Jan Meda, where thousands of people gathered for prayers, as priests sprinkled holy water on the assembled congregation.
