RUSH TRANSCRIPT:
BAIER: “Jessica, also saying definitively VP is off the table she wouldn’t take it, not going to do it. That’s something she wouldn’t say a few weeks ago. She is saying it now. Meantime the former president is calling her by her given name, not Nikki in a Truth Social post. It’s getting interesting in the final days here.”
TARLOV: “He is not really calling her by her given name, he is calling her by a name that he concocted.”
BAIER: “A nickname of the given name.”
TARLOV: “Of the given name, calling her Ninbra. People pointing to he has brought back the birtherism, those attacks that her parents weren’t citizens when she was born here, that she is ineligible to be able to be running and then of course he is saying that Democrats are just showing up and voting for her when we know that anyone who had to switch parties had to do that back at the end of October of 2023. So, he is back to his old playbook with the racism and the birtherism. I don’t know though if that means that come whenever Donald Trump claims the nominee status and that is what I believe is going to happen, Nikki Haley won’t change her mind and say I’m open to being his VP and that’s what Chris Christie is caught talking about on that, quote, hot mic moment. I’m not sure how hot it was rather than he just wanted people to hear him. But people have alleged that she is quite slippery that way and that she will say what she needs to say like she admitted in Iowa I’m a different person in Iowa than I am in New Hampshire and I am going to be different in South Carolina. I think that’s something that has hurt her that, that kind of consistency to it. Whether you like Donald Trump or not, he is who he is and that never changes even quoontd make it nor than 12 minutes Iowa caucus winning night.”
