Workers from almost twelve independent casino properties are gearing up for an informational picket line scheduled for Friday. Negotiations between Culinary Union 226 and 19 casinos, affecting approximately 7,000 workers, are still ongoing. The union is advocating for improved pay and working conditions. A tentative agreement was reached with Trump Tower on Thursday. Last year, a comprehensive strike was averted when the union secured historic deals with Cesar's, MGM, and Wynn.

In a significant development, the Biden-Harris administration, along with US Representative Alexander Ocasio-Cortez, expressed support for the union. Ocasio-Cortez even made a surprise visit and held discussions with union leaders earlier this week. The strike deadline is set for February 2, just days before Las Vegas hosts Super Bowl 58.
