Body Cam Shows Officer Chasing and Arresting Jacksonville Man

This video is of an incident on Friday, Sept. 29, 2023, when a Jacksonville Sheriff's officer pulled over a car with three occupants for a traffic violation. One of them, Le'Keian Woods, fled the scene and was followed by the officer on foot. The officer used a stun gun and physical force to subdue and handcuff Woods, who suffered injuries to his face and eyes.

The arrest sparked controversy and outrage after videos of Woods' bloody and swollen face went viral on social media. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released the body cam footage to show the full context of the arrest and to counter the allegations of police brutality. The sheriff said the video was not altered or edited and that the officer acted within policy and law.
