Davos 2024: 'Climate Scientist' Opinionates on Disinformation

Carlos Alfonso Nobre is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Advanced Studies, University of São Paulo and a member of the World Economic Forum. He describes himself as a "climate scientist". https://www.weforum.org/people/carlos-afonso-nobre/

He is very concerned about "misinformation" and "disinformation" which is being touted as the most dangerous threat to humanity and the planet, at this year's annual World Economic Forum meeting in Davos. He describes both climate denialism and anti-vaxxers as examples of spreaders of mis- and dis-information. Using the example of Brazil, he explains that they had the third highest pandemic mortality rate in the world because not enough people believed the experts and got vaccinated. The vaccination rate for Brazil as at October 2023 was 226 doses for every 100 people.

Ian Plimer is a Professor Emeritus of Geology at the University of Melbourne whose views directly oppose those of the World Economic Forum, who require massive amounts of public money to be channeled into corporate science to keep us safe.

Plimer describes evidence opposing the ideas of Nobre and the World Economic Forum in general. He also explains what a "climate scientist" is.
