A man, identified as 27-year-old Jermain Rigueur, has been arrested for attempted murder in the Springfield Gardens area of Queens in New York. He was charged in connection with a series of unprovoked stabbings near subways and an MTA bus in Queens. The NYPD stated that the suspect laughed at a 61-year-old victim before stabbing him. The attacks occurred over a little more than a week, with at least five victims. The stabbings, carried out with a hunting knife, were described as random and unconnected. The first incident took place on Jan. 9, and the suspect was apprehended after police released surveillance footage. Rigueur, who was found with the alleged weapon when detectives searched his home, is expected to appear in court. All five victims are expected to recover from their injuries.
