क्या भारत में 70,000 महीना कमाने वाले केवल 4 प्रतिशत लोग हैं? एक साल में साढ़े आठ लाख कमाने वाले इतने कम लोग हैं भारत में। गोल्डमन सैक्स नाम के एक वैश्विक वित्तीय संस्थान ने भारत के समृद्ध लोगों पर एक रिपोर्ट प्रकाशित की है। इस रिपोर्ट में उसे भी समृद्ध गिना गया है जो सत्तर हज़ार रुपया महीना कमाता है। आपको याद होगा कि मई 2022 में एक सरकारी रिपोर्ट आई थी। इसमें बताया गया कि भारत में 25,000 रुपये प्रति माह कमाने वाले चोटी के दस प्रतिशत लोगों में आते हैं। इन दोनों आंकड़ों को मिला कर देखें तो भारत की गरीबी का विशाल समंदर भी दिखता है और मुट्ठी भर ठीक ठाक कमाने वालों का तालाब भी। जो सबसे अमीर हैं ज़ाहिर है उनका टापू दिखता है। एक ऐसे देश में जहां कमाई इतनी कम है, वहां पांचवी बड़ी अर्थव्यवस्था होने का इतना जश्न मनाया जा रहा है। जब तब जीडीपी के गगनचुंबी आंकड़े आ जाते हैं, अब तो डबल डिजिट की बात ही बंद हो चुकी है, सात प्रतिशत से ऊपर जाने की संभावना पर ही ढोल नगाड़े बज उठते हैं।
