Russian general liquidated on downed A-50 plane over the Sea of Azov

Information has appeared on the web that Major-General Oleg Pchela, deputy commander of the long-range aviation of the Russian Air Force, was on board the A-50 shot down over the Sea of Azov on January 14.
Major-General, born in 1970, arrived in Belarus to carry out airstrikes in Ukraine in March 2022.
Since then, he has periodically received and performed "assignments" of the Kremlin.
The Russian Defence Ministry reported that the Major-General left daughter Ekaterina - the first and only female pilot of long-range aviation of the Russian Air Force.
Her father flew Su-24 bombers for 25 years, and then, after becoming the commander of a strategic aviation division, retrained in a year and was cleared to pilot a Tu-160 missile carrier. Ekaterina's brother is a civil aviation pilot.
The A-50 is a Russian reconnaissance plane, equivalent to the AWACS plane, used by NATO. Topped with a large radar, it typically has a crew of 15 and can scan an area of several hundred kilometres for enemy aircraft, ships and missiles.
Russian telegram channel WarGonzo acknowledged that the A-50 had been destroyed.
“Unfortunately war is never without tragedies, and the death of our fighters always hurts. We express our condolences to the families and close ones of the crew,” it said.
