Walking into Wellness

When it comes to wellness, I walk the walk. Literally.
This isn't going to be very long. We all know what to expect from Wellness Wednesday.
I discovered the benefits of walking quite by accident. I wondered how long it would take me to walk to the YMCA. Forty minutes. That's longer than I walk to any park, or gym now, plus there were hills. It's flat here.
I'd walk to and from the gym, train for more than an hour, get groceries on the way home and then work the graveyard shift. I'd sleep for 6 hours mostly, but I realized I started losing weight in my sleep.
I was weighing myself before bed and as soon as I woke up. I was amazed! This was truly a dis-covery. And it's still working, although I have some other tools at my disposal.
This year losing weight is not enough. It has to be fat weight. And indeed I don't even want to lose weight, we must lose fat! So the trick is shred fat, gain muscle, gain weight. It's a new trick for us.
I may have been mistaken about this not being long.
Last week we posted an eval over a two month period. We seem to be losing 1/3 lb of fat, per lb of muscle. That's an estimate. We'll check again in a few weeks.
Shredding fat makes muscles appear bigger. Don't know if we've added size or not. Haven't pulled out the tape measure in many months. Very small gains might not even register.
