Ingredients:

For the Red Velvet Cake:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk
2 large eggs
2 tablespoons red food coloring
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon white vinegar

For the Cheesecake:

16 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Cream Cheese Frosting:

8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

Prepare Red Velvet Batter:

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. In another bowl, whisk together oil, buttermilk, eggs, red food coloring, vanilla extract, and vinegar. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just combined.

Make Cheesecake Batter:

In a separate bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and beat until well combined.

Layer the Batters:

Divide the red velvet batter evenly between the prepared pans. Spoon the cheesecake batter on top of the red velvet batter in each pan.
