When Nickole Atkinson contacted police the afternoon of August 13th, 2018 the urgency of the situation was already heightened because of what had been going on in the weeks leading up to that day. She was already deeply worried about her pregnant friend Shanann because she had missed her ultrasound appointment, and now wasn't answering text messages. But from the moment that Chris Watts stepped out of his company truck, it was clear that their lives were about to radically change forever.

Over the last 5 years many people have attempted to piece together what actually happened on the morning of August 13th, 2018. And yet almost as quickly as the events transpired the case was ended, and Chris Watts disappeared into a life sentence that would guarantee that he would never leave the confines of his prison cell.

But to those who had been so deeply affected by the circumstances of this case, it seemed like we were given a book to read, and then not allowed to finish it. There were still so many questions left unanswered, and it's why 3 members of law enforcement visited the incarcerated family annihilator, because they too were unsatisfied with the answers they had been given. Because even if Chris Watts refuses to reveal what he was so eager to hide, the truth is out there and justice is never far away.
