What Neil DeGrasse Tyson Just Doesn’t Get About Religion
Neil DeGrasse Tyson claims religious truths are just personal truths, no different than opinions about Elvis Presley. But is he right?
No. Not according to the teachings of the religions themselves. Furthermore, their founders and early followers were willing to suffer for what they declared. This means they regarded their religious teachings as objective truths; not subjective, personal opinions. Tyson fails to understand the nature of religious claims by classifying them as mere “personal truths.”
