On January 16th, 1957, The Cavern Club, where The Beatles first cut their teeth, opened on Matthews Street in Liverpool England. John Lennon first performed there with his group the Quarrymen and from 1961 to 1963 The Beatles took the stage a total of 292 times! The club has closed down on two occasions in the 70s and 80s but now has been running consistently since 1991.
