Dracula 1931 Bela Lugosi

Bela Lugosi stars as Count Dracula in the 1931 film Dracula. The movie is considered a classic of the horror genre and is based on Bram Stoker's 1924 stage play Dracula. In the movie, Dracula hypnotizes a British soldier into becoming his slave and then moves to London to live in an old castle. He begins to wreak havoc, sucking the blood of young women and turning them into vampires. When he sets his sights on Mina, the daughter of a prominent doctor, vampire-hunter Van Helsing is enlisted to stop Dracula's bloodlust.
Lugosi's performance as Dracula is widely acknowledged as the definitive portrayal of the character. Some say that Lugosi's accent and stiffness in English are advantages. Others say that it's hard to imagine people responding favorably without being able to hear Lugosi's distinctive Hungarian accent.
