Runs 2:06 | Sept. 15, 1991 - All-Pro back Barry Sanders was a workhorse, carrying the ball a career-high 32 times for 143 yards; nine of those rushes went for first downs, including his final carry, a second-effort three-yarder on 3rd-and-2 in the final minutes to ice the game for the Lions. QB Rodney Peete directed an eight-play, 86-yard TD drive in the second quarter, capped by a 26-yard strike to Willie Green, to knot the halftime score at 10-10. Peete ran six yards for Detroit's second touchdown, the final play of a 12-play, 81-yard drive, giving the Lions a 17-10 edge entering the fourth quarter. Miami had a golden opportunity to take the lead late in the contest when Shawn Lee returned a Peete interception to the Lions' three yard line with less than five minutes remaining, but an inspired goal-line stand by the Detroit defense stopped Dan Marino and the Dolphins four times, and the Lions escaped with a 17-13 victory.
