Episode 1787: The 5 Franscian Protomartyrs

The Franciscan Protomartyrs were five friars from the Franciscan Order who were martyred in Morocco in the early 13th century. They are:

Berard of Carbio
Peter of Sassoferrato
Accursius of Florence
Adjute of Lunel
Odo of Novara
These friars were the first members of the Franciscan Order to suffer martyrdom. They were killed in 1227 while attempting to spread the Christian faith in Morocco.
