Beta Myrcene has a few effects on us when we use cannabis. Depending on other Terpenes present, specifically which form of beta Caryophyllene present can seriously alter the experience.
Not only but just as much can it be altered by the other form of Beta Caryophyllene, Trans Caryophyllene which is the most common form of Beta Caryophyllene.
Or Myrcene can be on its own so to speak and be even moreso different than the Beta Caryophyllene Pairing typically seen in indica.
Myrcene is directly tied to Terpological Theory in that if not for Myrcene, the market would look much different. Expectations of the users of the illicit market greatly led to the psychoactivity of Myrcene in modern cannabis.
I also believe that this specific happenstance allowed doctors the leeway, because of so many people freaking out on Edibles, to claim cannabis causes Overdose, aka Cannabis Hyper Emesis, named in2001 by a doctor looking for FDA browny points.
