Is Belief in God a Mental Illness?

I just had a man claim that the belief in God is a mental illness. This despite the fact that the majority of the world has always believed in a god of one sort or another. My question is, Who is more dangerous; the person who believes in God and seeks to convert others or the person who believes those who believe are mentally ill, and should be confined?
