Many who are depressed have a negative thinking pattern as a result of living in choice two. They have a tendency to live in the past, dwell on things they cannot change, are easily hurt by rejection, and avoid conflict. They will bottle it up all inside and it leads to frustration, anger, despair and hopelessness, this can actually lead to more depression.
When you are in a depressed state like this, you lose your will and can’t think clearly. It becomes very difficult at some point to change this way of thinking.
Philippians 4:8–9 (NKJV)
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9 The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.
