Haziran 2023'te Hindistan'ın kuzeyinde Müslümanları hedef alan nefret saldırıları artmış, Hindutva grupları aileleri bölgeyi terk etmeye zorlamıştır. 2024 yılında Hindutva destekçilerinin "Jai Shree Ram" yazısını sergilediği için Müslüman bir esnafı taciz ettiği bir video bu durumun devam ettiğini göstermiştir. Bu durum, BJP hükümetinin iktidara gelmesinden bu yana artan gerilimi yansıtmakta ve Uttarakhand ve Hindistan'da barışı bozmaktadır.
