The Mongolian Empire was founded by Genghis Khan in 1206, after he succeeded in uniting the Mongolian tribes who at that time were often at odds with each other. Under the rule of Genghis Khan and his descendants, the Mongolian empire was able to grow rapidly in a fairly short time. One by one the great kingdoms of the world fell under the Mongolian empire.
