Rep. Crockett Hits the GOP for Trying to ‘Insinuate There’s a Security Issue’ on Our Border

Crockett: “So, I think part of this is just the fact that the Republicans have no other rhetoric but the border. Obviously, they are continually talking about the fact that they’ve not passed bills, they don’t have anything to run on, so it’s easy enough to run on this group of people. I will tell you, as someone who is a Texan, who does have communications with Border Patrol, you know, they’re doing their jobs. I mean, the big issue is, why do we have so many people coming over here? To insinuate that there’s a security issue in the realm of there’s so much crime that’s going on that we’re not able to catch, I actually have to tip my hat off to Border Patrol. And Border Patrol has asked us to make sure that we can improve the technology so that they can have better detection of those bad guys that are trying to get over and trying to bring things over. So to me it’s a matter of listening to the people on the ground, and the people on the ground don’t include my governor, but they include the people that show up every single day, work really hard. And also, stop being so immature as it relates to funding the government.”
