I got a dirty look from a checkout guy in a skirt and eye shadow at the grocery store who didn't care for my 'thank you, sir' comment. He was obviously in his own reality and most everyone could see that FACT but played along or didn't say anything like I did, which I made automatically as a courtesy, not registering the subject was trying to be something he isn't, not thinking anything about being offensive to HIM. I say it habitually to people in public services because it is polite. I would have made it worse when I realized it if I had 'corrected' my words to fit his illusion.
Oh well, I didn't lose any sleep over it, chuckled a little when I got into my car.
I guess I am just a bad man. ;0
