1982 was a hard year for the country; Wayne Williams was convicted of murder, Claus Van Bulow was found guilty of attempted murder of his wife, Vincent Chan was murdered (a Chinese man beaten to death by 2 men who thought he was Japanese), Flight 90 crashed in the Platonic, Pan Am Flight 9 crashed in Louisiana killing everyone onboard plus 8 others on the ground, a paperboy in Iowa named John Gosch disappeared one day and was never seen again. I remember the news in the 80’s was truly horrible to watch, and nothing good ever seemed to happen in the world. Then at the end of the September, something happened that everyone in America and the world forgot everything else that happened and focused solely on #Chicago and the #tylenol Poisonings of 7 people.
