Breaking out of the Pattern - Single Stick - Filipino Martial Arts
5 months ago
78
The goal of any drill in Filipino Martial Arts is to eventually break from the pattern and be able to flow with whatever comes our way.
This footage was shot back in 2016 in Milford, CT as a quick review of this set.
Here we take the extremely popular Hubad Lubad Drill (AKA Hubud) and break it down to 6 individual steps. Then we add a technique for each of the six steps. You can repeat a certain section to get comfortable inserting one of the techniques within the flow drill. Once you're comfortable, you can flow with your partner and insert your techniques randomly.
