Episode 1779: A Protestant comes home to Catholicism, Why?

You often hear two things from me in my podcasts.
1. Please convert somebody and especially bring a protestant (whatever 55K denomination) home because at one point in their ancestorial history they were Catholic.
2. Learn your faith before abandoning it for the false faith of Martin Luther.
3. The best Catholic converts seem to be protestants because they come with a certain dedication. They have decided to follow the faith.

Well as you know I often tell you about family members that left the Catholic Church and these are the toughest to convert because they grew up Catholic but for some reason never learned their faith deeply before running away or they left because they were trying to make something right in their life and blamed the Catholic Church for their problems and struggles and instead of realizing they needed the church even more they hooked up with a protestant preacher of some sort who had all the great anti-Catholic tag lines and being unsure of their faith or weak in their faith they left. But when they jumped into the protestant church they did something they never did in the Catholic Church, they went out to learn. Sadly, they learned the wrong faith for the first time. They would claim that through their scripture studies the holy spirit was speaking to them. I will give you all the reasons why that was not possible.

But for many, me speaking about this seems to be a little too convenient because I being a cradle Catholic they say I was indoctrinated and so I they are no different in their protestant convictions than I am in my Catholic.

Even though I point to those writing of the very early Church fathers and all the great works of the Church prior to Luther some 1500 years later I am perceived as a staunch Catholic with eyes that truly do not see.

So you may have heard my previous episodes where I provided Protestant ministers that converted to Catholicism or even a Baptist convert that I interviewed who joins in our teaching of catechism and say the nightly devotions. Why do I do that? They say the very same thing as I, but they had to do the hard job of leaving a false and heretical faith. They had to change course and most late in life.

So we as Catholics that are weak in our faith must learn our faith we must be there to bring more people back to the church and especially cradle Catholics that left or lapsed in their faith and see no use for it and are not bringing their children up in it.

See we are no different than the early Catholics of the church in that we must evangelize, and we must help convert as many souls to the mystical body of Christ as we can. Let us be called fanatics for Christs and bring them back to the holy sacrifice of the mass on Sundays and leave the sport fanatics to their secular stadiums on Sunday.

Now I want you to listen to a cradle protestant who became a minister and left with his wife and family for the true faith the mystical body of Christ and see if you hear something common from him and me, not to mention the other converts like Sharon.
