Anna: CCP Had Planned in September 2022 to Designate Officials for the Occupation of Taiwan

01/11/2024 Anna on Outside the Beltway: Before the Taiwan presidential election, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) resorted to various forms of coercion. It included not only military exercises and military threats such as sending spy balloons but also the manipulation of over 600 local Taiwanese officials to vote for pro-CCP candidates. Furthermore, as early as September 2022, the CCP had already planned to appoint certain individuals as officials in specific departments after taking control of Taiwan, such as the director of public security and the governor of Taiwan province.
