It's another repair video for the Sega Dreamcast. In this video I diagnose a disc read error because of the top/lid and the sensor that it's supposed to activate. There are several methods to address this issue so I went through a few of the less-invasive ones before having to resort to tearing the console apart to get to the door sensor. This is a long video so I'll include some time stamps so you can jump around in you need:

00 Intro
51 Diagnosis
28 Lid disassembly
13 No-lid test
29 Alcohol-on-lid-sensor Method
45 Alcohol-on-lid-sensor method test
04 Lid adjustment Method
13 Lid adjustment method test
05 Book on lid Method
10 Lid assessment
17 Lid-tape Method
49 Lid-tape method test
38 GD-ROM Screw removal
56 Power-pack removal
33 GD-ROM Removal and disassembly
38 Lid-sensor disassembly
04 Lid-sensor cleaning
58 Lid-sensor spring oopsie
53 Lid-sensor spring oopsie correction
32 Lid-sensor reassembly
50 GD-ROM reassembly
24 Power-pack reassembly
00 Final test and End Result

It took me a long time do conduct this repair and to do all the editing. I hope it helps you if you've run across a Sega Dreamcast that is giving you a disc read error. This is one method to correct that error. There's another way, but that's a video for another day. Enjoy!
