With a history spanning over 600 years, the Forbidden City stands as a symbol of China's rich cultural heritage and served as the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing dynasties.

The construction of the Forbidden City began in 1406 during the Ming Dynasty, under the orders of Emperor Yongle. The purpose behind its construction was to establish a new capital, and the Forbidden City was to be the imperial palace where the emperor and his household would reside. Thousands of workers were employed, and the finest materials from all over China were used in its construction.
