Sinead Smyth and Andy Smith can be found in the most northern part of Ireland, near the town of Carndonagh. It's where their project for an artist facility came to life. "I can teach absolutely anybody to paint," Sinead tells me, whose metaphysical style leans towards surrealism. In the closing of our conversation, Sinead expresses her idea that we are all endowed with creativity, the very creativity that has given us survival skills. "Please do investigate your creativity."
Andy Smith has elevated gardening to artistic dimensions, and after the almost labyrinthine journey that only he knows through his not-so-large but seemingly complete backyard, he concludes Socratically, saying that he knows only half of what he would have liked to know. Indeed, a life lived in creativity is always a work in progress.
