A homeless man died Wednesday night after being struck by a car along Catawba Valley Boulevard Southeast near 21st Street Southeast in Hickory, North Carolina.
The victim was identified as 56-year-old Michael Squire. His street name was “Spoon.”
Squires’ “street family” was nearby at the time of the fatal accident, his street wife Geneva and their street son, Michael, middle name, “Gold,” a mentally challenged, special needs, 25-year-old.
After the accident, Michael, who requires special assistance, wandered away, and his friends say he must be located immediately for his own safety.
The next day, Geneva, and two homeless friends, Angi and Abel returned to the scene of the fatal accident to recover Michael’s possessions.
We will let Geneva tell her story.
