In this extended video, I respond to numerous requests for more comprehensive detail and insight into my process. While I generally prefer shorter videos around 10 - 15 minutes, this one is an exception. Here, I demonstrate how to make a large Camp-Survival-Hunting knife, inspired by the British Army Issue Knife. This robust build features a heavy-duty 6mm thick, 13-inch long oak handle. Accompanying the knife is a sturdy 6mm thick leather sheath with a dangler. This knife excels in wood chopping and splitting, making it an ideal companion for preparing a campfire. The blade boasts three bevels, including a 30-degree micro bevel, ensuring it's not only sharp but also maintains an excellent edge.

My channel is primarily dedicated to hobby knife making and various DIY projects related to home and garden. I'm not a professional knife smith and I don't sell my knives. My approach to knife making is a personal hobby, involving woodworking, metalworking, and leatherworking. I enjoy recreating historical tools, like my interpretation of the 1950s British Army issue knife, and making a variety of knives including hunters, skinners, fishing/gutting knives, and kitchen or chef's knives.

Please note, the way I use power and hand tools in my videos is based on my personal methods and should not be taken as instructional guidance on tool usage. Always prioritize safety, wear appropriate protective gear, and use tools as recommended by their manufacturers.

In addition to knife making, this channel also covers topics like garden design, the construction of outdoor buildings, and other aspects of working with knives and tools. Whether you're an experienced craftsman or just starting out, there's a wealth of knowledge and inspiration available here for all enthusiasts.
