Golden Hair: Christine Maple

Christine Maple (1910-1947) was Miss Universe according to Florence Ziegfeld. This Kansas born, horseback riding blonde beauty starred in various Westerns in the 1930s. So she is one of the few Ziegfeld girls you can catch on film today. Tangled up with a playboy violinist in Monte Carlo, Maple descended into maple illness before dying in her Philadelphia townhome in 1937.
