You win some and you lose some when it comes to eating cacti if you do it wrong you definitely lose. The Red cactus tuna that grows on the top of the cactus here in Texas is very juicy and full of lots of sugars and carbohydrates. Under normal circumstances I don't eat sugar. In my day-to-day life, I Eat ketogenic. Meaning I don't do carbs or sugar. But in a survival situation When calories are what counts for keeping up your energy Nothing is off the table. Including risking a few thorns and your tongue to get a tasty treat off the cactus.
