Police have released the body cam footage of officers rescuing a toddler and two adults after the car they were in drove into a retention pond in Naperville last Tuesday.

We've had requests to see the bodycam video from last week's event, in which three of our officers entered a frigid retention pond to help a family whose car had crashed into the water. Their ability to remain calm and do what needed to be done to help the frantic family is commendable!

Police saw the car in the pond near 95th Street Library around 1 p.m. and rushed to rescue the family, which included a man, a woman and a two-year-old girl.

No one was hurt in the incident, but some police officers sustained minor injuries in the rescue.
