NO IMPORTANT DECISION IS TAKEN IN THE 10TH

The Deputy Senate President- Senator Barau Jubrin has said that there’s no important decision that will be taken in the 10th Nigerian Senate without the input of the Senate Deputy Chief Whip and Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial district – Distinguished Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi.

Senator Barau disclosed on Sunday 7th January 2024 during the Family Thanksgiving Service and Empowerment Program of Senator Nwebonyi at Saint Michaels Parish, Mbeke Ishieke, Ebonyi local government area of Ebonyi state.

The Deputy Senate President-Senator Barau who represented the Senate President-Senator Godswill Akpabio at the event noted that the major Religions we have in this country all believe that whenever God did something to you, you should thank Him and He will do more for you stressing that God has done a lot for Senator Onyekachi Nwebonyi. In his words:

“ God has done very much for our brother- Senator Nwebonyi. Apart from the fact that he won his election for the Senate, he went into the National Assembly with the right legs because it is one thing to win an election to come to the National Assembly or indeed any Legislature for the matter, and another to find your way to have an appropriate position so that you can deliver what your people want you to deliver to them. Because if you don’t take the right step, you will end up being a bench warmer. But Senator Nwebonyi came to the National Assembly with the right leg because he joined the group that eventually won the Senate Presidency and the Deputy Senate Presidency which is very very important. So, that victory also is a victory for all of us including himself. Apart from that, he worked and made sure that he became one of the persons that matter in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. He thereafter became the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate which is a very very important position.

Senator Barau eulogized the unbridled synergy between Senator Nwebonyi and his colleagues and brother Senators from Ebonyi state including the current Minister of Works and former Governor of Ebonyi state- Senator David Umahi as well as Senator Ken Eze. He further disclosed that from the beginning he knew Nwebonyi was a man of God because he is very humble and respects any person he sees on the way at every point in time noting that he is also a good listener, a very good observer, and a fast learner for that matter. He insisted that no important decision would be taken in the Senate without the input of Senator Nwebonyi.
