Another Wander

Another wander with my sister's dog, this time we wander past the old fish farm, canal side to Murray's Cauld.

The cauld (weir) was built in the 1850's by landowner Sir John Murray to power a waterwheel for a sawmill and grain thresher. Over the years it has been channeling water for a fish farm (not in use today) and betweeen 2011-13 it was rebuilt with a new fish pass in the middle of the wier, and a pair of Archimedes screw turbines added for electricity generation.
