Temperatures will remain cold for New Years Day today with highs in the lower-single digits and winds out of the west between 10-15 MPH making wind chill values down into -15 to -30. New Year's Day will also be the coldest in quite some time. In 1974 the temperature was 0 degrees. The coldest high temperature ever for January 1st was -2 back in 1924. Tonight it will still be cold with lows in the mid-single digits below zero and wind chills between -15 to -25. Tuesday will be blustery, but dry during the daytime hours. Highs will top out in the low-teens. A weak system will be passing through on Tuesday night bringing us a chance of a few snow showers or flurries. Lows will be in the mid-single digits above zero. Wednesday, skies will become partly cloudy, but it will still be blustery with highs in the mid-teens.
