The presidential elections currently being held in Taiwan could be a pivotal moment for the world. If the pro-Chinese Communist Party (CCP) party wins, this could have a ripple effect on the global markets, on the high-tech industry, and in particular on the trade war between the United States and China. If the anti-CCP party wins, this could spark new military threats from the CCP and a potential new war, as the regime has vowed to take Taiwan even if it means using force.
