Jane was innocent as to who and what the Mystery School Cult really were doing in her psychic-classes. Seth could see through some of her duplicitous students, but did not want them to interfere with Jane's timid and loving nature. Even Sue Watkins was in the Cult and had infiltrated bringing Mystery School beliefs into class against Jane's wishes. There is more going on in Jane's books that just Seth... the Mystery School Cult is hidden in there too.
Seth was able to keep is Sethbooks pure and was why writing the independant Sethbooks was a GodSend.
