You'll see some high clouds streaming overhead today, but they're not carrying any rain for us and we won't get a strong breeze here on the valley floor either, so that means we stay stagnant with air quality that is unhealthy for everyone. All wood burning is prohibited today. We'll also be quite warm for this time of year, with a high of 71 in Bakersfield, more than 15 degrees above average. Most of the rest of the valley and the mountains and desert will be in the upper 60s today. For your end of 2017 celebrations tonight, expect the low 40s in the valley and Kern River Valley and upper 30s in the south mountains as we're ringing in the new year at midnight. Tomorrow will be a lot like today.
