Brandon Judd: Illegal immigrants will not bring identification to the border

National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd says the vast majority of immigrants will not bring official identification to border processing. “They know that we can’t verify their identification with the countries that they claim to be from. And if we can’t verify that, we have to take them at face value. In that particular instance, the burden of proof is on the federal government. It’s not on them,” Judd explains. “For an asylum proceeding, once they get to that court proceeding the burden of proof is on them. But to actually show who they are or what their age is, which is one of the major problems that we’re facing right now, the burden of proof is on us.”
