Explosions, kidnappings mark Ecuador's state of emergency

Ecuadorian police said on Tuesday (January 9) that at least four officers have been kidnapped and explosions have occurred in several cities, a day after Ecuador’s President Daniel Noboa declared a state of emergency following the disappearance of the country’s most-wanted prisoner from the prison where he was being held.
