Michael Fish's NBC26 weather forecast

Saturday looks to be a raw day, especially in the morning. We'll start off with wind chills from -20 to -30, though we'll have plenty of sunshine. Highs will only top out in the upper-single digits.  Saturday night, we'll see the clouds increase. I'm also watching to see exactly what happens with the wind as it becomes more northerly. If there's just enough of an easterly component, we could see some lake effect snow right next to Lake Michigan. It's going to be close. Either way, most of us, it'll be quiet with lows in the single digits below zero. Sunday, again there could be a little lake effect right next to Lake Michigan, but most of the day will just continue to be cold. Highs will only top out around 10. New Year's Eve is going to be cold with temps in mid-single digits below zero by midnight. Overnight lows will get close to -10. New Year's Day will also be very cold with highs only in the mid-single digits. I don't see us shaking this pattern for the time being.
