North Caucasus, Kabardino-Balkaria, Elbrus region

Crowned with eternal ice, the giant Elbrus rises above the mountains, which is the highest peak in Europe... In order to preserve the unique nature of the Elbrus region, the area was granted the status of a national park in the 1980s. The uniqueness lies in the fact that all landscape and climatic zones characteristic of Russia are located on this territory.

A great place for climbers, rock climbers, skiers and mountain tourism enthusiasts. The best time for hiking is considered to be the period from July to September. The easiest way to get there is through Nalchik, then to the village of Terskol, which is called the capital of the Elbrus region.
