Original poem-

Part I

When the sun goes down and darkness falls
We make chance by the moonlight
Singing by the stars we look at the wonders
What happiness love can bring
You are my only one.

Part II

Through the darkness I wander
Amidst the pain I now reside
My bare feet upon broken glass
A victim of my own design
Took your lies as that of my own
Became a martyr for your guise
As you let me be the one to fall
Our fate is sealed inside
We've not the strength to hold together
Thus two hearts are torn apart
A love that we once thought forever
A work of fiction from the start.

Part III

A hatred spawns inside me
Which conquers and divides me
Tearing through my very soul
As the devil takes a hold
And with a knife I pierce my skin
Trying to find the truths within
As I continue this charade
As a mournful demon in dismay
Now regretful for my sins
Not forgetting where I’ve been
Though I pray for your forgiveness
I’m afraid this is the end.

Part IV

I don’t know where I’m heading
I don’t know where I’ve been
My memories forgotten, and my past is closing in
Without you, I’m so lost and afraid
I go out of my mind, it’s your love that I crave
I wonder about my future, I grave upon the past
Too many broken promises, the lesson has been learnt
For me there’s no direction, no path for me to take
No hope I’ve lost control, for life I seek my way
I search for all the answers, but I’m left without a clue
I’m left out here wandering, so lost and confused
I feel my soul is comforted when I hear your name
Your love it gives me strength, but will I ever see the way?

Part V

This illusion of freedom
But a lie eluding me
Sweet deception of the heart
That our minds refuse to see
Controlled by ideals
Birthed from imagination
It is the falsehood of man
That will lead to our damnation
Pridefully ignorant
We then separate ourselves
By imaginary borders
And ill perception of our wealth
Thus we draw comparisons
And for status we compete
But is it all for nothing
As it's love we truly seek
So in closing of this poem
I hope you will take heed
Of true heart's desire
By show of kindness in your deeds.
