In the United States, a United Launch Alliance Vulcan rocket with a private Peregrine lander launched from Cape Canaveral in Florida to the Moon. This was reported by NASA.
"Peregrine" was developed by the American company Astrobotic. According to experts, the lander will land on the visible side of the Moon on the northeastern edge of the Ocean of Storms on February 23, 2024.
In addition, "Peregrine" carries capsules from the ritual company Celestis, which offers services for sending the ashes of earthlings into space and in 1999 carried out the first and so far the only delivery to the Moon of the ashes of American scientist Eugene Shoemaker. This time, the ashes of the creator of "Star Trek" Gene Roddenberry and several actors of the series were sent outside the Earth.
