"As the source of Daniel’s wisdom was not the stars but the God who made the stars no doubt his influence would have turned some of them away from paganism to faith in the God of Israel. Daniel’s prophecies were written in Aramaic and would have therefore been accessible to the Babylonians. In Daniel 9 he gives information of the time of the coming of the Messiah, the coming King of the Jews. The Babylonians who believed Daniel to be a prophet would have been able to work out from this passage that it was about the time for this King to arrive." A. Fruchtenbaum
