"The Woman in Green" is a 1945 Sherlock Holmes film directed by Roy William Neill. The film is the eleventh installment in the Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce series of Sherlock Holmes movies produced by Universal Pictures.

In "The Woman in Green," Sherlock Holmes, played by Basil Rathbone, investigates a series of murders in which the victims' right forefingers are severed. Holmes is assisted by his loyal friend Dr. John Watson, played by Nigel Bruce. The title refers to a mysterious woman involved in the case.

The film takes its title from the short story "The Adventure of the Engineer's Thumb," written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but the plot itself is an original creation for the movie. The film series, despite taking liberties with the source material, is generally well-regarded for the performances of Rathbone and Bruce in their iconic roles as Holmes and Watson.
