Michael Fish's NBC26 weather forecast

Tonight, clouds will increase ahead of the next weak weather-maker on the way, but it will still get pretty cold. Lows will bottom out in the lower-teens below zero before gradually rising overnight. It looks like some light snow is on the way for Thursday, mainly in the afternoon and early evening. Preliminary totals will not be that high in the Trace to 1" range, but some enhancement near Lake Michigan could bump the totals up just a little higher. Basically, this is another "nuisance snow" for most of us. The thing that concerns me a bit is the fact that it will still be cold during and after the snow falls. That means the salt will not be working that quickly. Highs Thursday will only be in the low-teens. Thursday nights lows will bottom out around 0. Friday will be a cold, blustery day. Not AS cold as we've been seeing, but still not pleasant at all. Highs will top out in the upper-single digits. Saturday also looks quiet and relatively cold with highs in the upper-single digits again. Below average temperatures will continue for this last week of 2017.
